For digital marketers and eCommerce managers, expanding to new channels often feels like hitting a brick wall of administrative work. Between cleaning messy data and manually mapping hundreds of attributes, the setup time can delay a product launch by days or even weeks.
We are announcing AI feed setup for Channable, a revolutionary new feature designed to automate the most tedious parts of channel onboarding. By leveraging AI models trained specifically on eCommerce data, Channable now bridges the gap between your internal data structure and channel specifications automatically.
Seamless launches: Reduce your channel onboarding time with a few simple clicks.
Automated mapping: AI automatically matches your internal fields, regardless of its language, (like "Farbe") to required channel attributes (like "Color").
Automatic rule creation: AI creates and suggests rules to standardize values such as "stock” to “availability,” data formats, and remove HTML.
Strategic focus: By eliminating manual data cleaning, your team can focus on ROAS, pricing strategies, and campaign optimization.
Improved quality: Built-in proactive issue detection identifies and suggests fixes for data gaps before you go live. See the full list here.
User control: AI suggests fixes and improvements for your approval, ensuring you maintain full control over your data and setup.
Traditionally, setting up a product feed for Google Shopping or Meta required a deep dive into the details. Marketers had to act as "data cleaners," standardizing values, removing HTML from descriptions, and ensuring every product was placed in the correct category tree. This manual process isn't just slow, it's a bottleneck to scaling.
When you manage a large product catalog, efficient product feed setup becomes a competitive advantage. The faster you can move from a raw data source to a live channel, the faster you can start capturing revenue.
Channable's AI feed set up introduces an automated workflow that scans your feed and understands exactly what a channel requires. Here is how the system handles the heavy lifting:
AI mapping: It identifies your internal fields and maps them to mandatory channel attributes.
Automated categorization: The system selects the most relevant categories for your products within the channel's specific tree.
Proactive error detection: It identifies missing attributes or data quality issues before they cause a channel rejection.
Automatic rule creation with user control: The AI automatically creates the rules to implement the changes required by any errors it finds. These fixes are presented as suggestions for your approval, ensuring you maintain full control over your data and setup.
Setting up your first automated feed is straightforward. Currently available for Google Shopping and Meta Online Products, you can enable this today.
Navigate to your project and click + Create channel. Select either Google Shopping or Meta. Fill in your feed name, target country, and market type (e.g., Standard, Fashion, or Books).
In the settings menu, you will see a toggle for AI setup. By default, this will be "on." Once you save, Channable will skip the traditional manual steps: Categorization, Mapping, Rules, and Quality, and take you directly to the Preview & export stage.
In the Preview & export tab, you will see an "AI Progress" dashboard. This shows you:
Items successfully categorized.
Fields mapped automatically.
Rules created by the AI.
You can click Review AI solutions to see a list of suggested fixes. For example, if the condition is not set, the AI can suggest a rule to fill "new" since it's a mandatory requirement for both Google Shopping and Meta to have this filled. You can review these and click Apply solutions to finalize the setup in bulk.
| Feature | Manual process | AI Feed Setup |
| Mapping | Manual field matching | Automatic field detection |
| Categorization | Manual tree browsing | Automatic categorization |
| Rules | User-written logic | Auto-generated rules |
| Setup Time | Hours/Days | Minutes |
For users on the Core Plus plan, you can take automation a step further by using AI to generate high-quality titles and descriptions. This requires a connection to the Google Gemini API to process text tokens securely.
API Key: Create a key in Google AI Studio.
Billing: Set up a Tier 1 (or higher) billing account in Google to ensure data confidentiality and higher limits.
Connection: In Channable, go to Optimize > +Generate text with AI and paste your API key.
While the AI handles the majority of the work, some manual oversight ensures the highest eCommerce product mapping quality.
Review "Not Categorized" items: Sometimes, product data is too vague for AI to be 100% certain. Check the "Your next steps" section to manually categorize any outliers.
Scale with ease: Use this setup to test new markets quickly. Because the AI understands different naming conventions (like "Farbe" to "Color"), expanding internationally is no longer a translation headache across regions or languages.
Focus on performance: With the busy work gone, marketers can spend more time on segmenting product feeds for better ROAS.
The goal of AI feed setup isn't just to replace manual tasks, it's to empower digital marketing agencies and retailers to move faster. By automating the technical "under-the-hood" work of feed management, to focus on the more detailed strategy driving growth: Messaging, pricing performance, and customer experience.
