First, you have to upload your items with a product feed into your Instagram business profile catalog via Facebook (Facebook Business Manager Menu: Catalogs > Create Catalog > complete the steps > View Catalog > “Data Sources” tab > Add data source).Once you’ve uploaded your feed, there a multiple advertising possibilities for Instagram:
Instagram dynamic product ads
Dynamic Product Ads are retargeting ads that will be shown to people that have visited your site (or even a specific product on your site). You will need to install pixel event codes on your site (to track visitors), enable them in your Instagram business profile and link the event source to the catalog after you upload your product feed. Then you can create stunning campaigns and ads in the Ads Manager and link the product catalog on the ad set level. Remember to select Instagram at the ad level.

Shorten the customers journey and enable them to be redirected to a product page if they like what they see on Instagram. Tag up to 5 products in each photo or video, or 20 in a multi-photo post.
How do I get my products / ads on Instagram?
- Create a Channable account
Creating an account takes seconds, just sign up with your name and email address.
- Import your product feed
The Channable tool supports CSV, XML, Google Spreadsheets and Text files. In addition, 3rd party connections to eCommerce platforms are also available. - Add an Instagram feed
In order to advertise your products on Instagram, first you have to add Instagram as a channel. Don’t worry it’s very easy! To do that just head over to the ‘Feeds’ tab and click on ‘add new feed’.
- Categorize your products
Instagram’s categories are already implemented within Channable. You can easily match your own categories to the categories of Instagram to make sure your products appear in the right category on Instagram.
- Create rules to optimize your ads for Instagram
After you have added Instagram as a feed, the next step involves creating rules to optimize your feed for the best results possible.
